After the sculptural paintings produced in the two previous years, my preoccupation with three-dimensionality within a two-dimensional plane became a challenge I could not resist. I instinctively knew that if I could master a style that achieved what I had bouncing around in my head, I will eventually find my own very personal style.
Through what I had learnt from the production of my sculptural works and with more intensive experimentation, I was finally able to produce works that exhibited the nuances I was searching for! Through the use of slightly raised contour lines I was able to achieve a heightened sense three-dimensionality. I now knew I had found my style! I coined my technique 'Contourism'.
